Halo Infinite‘s Multiplayer Beta was surprise launched today, with many players already flooding the game. For many others however, they are hitting a blue error screen, preventing them from accessing Halo Infinite‘s Multiplayer Beta.

Going into today’s Xbox Anniversary Stream, many gamers suspected that 343 Industries was dropping Halo Infinite early. November 15 marks the 20th Anniversary of both Xbox and Halo, making it the perfect time to announce a surprise launch of arguably the most anticipated game of this holiday season. As predicted, the Anniversary event concluded with the announcement of Halo Infinite‘s Multiplayer Beta going live at the end of the broadcast, prompting many to jump in right away. Halo Infinite benefitted from a year’s delay and two massive multiplayer flight test, allowing 343 Industries to extensively test the game and get fan feedback for the final product.

Many players trying to access the Halo Infinite Multiplayer Beta are having difficulty doing so. According to a new tweet from the official Halo Support team, players are being hit with a blue error screen when trying to launch Halo Infinite on both PC and Xbox consoles. It seems 343 Industries may have already pushed through an update fixing the problem as not long after, Halo Support published a new tweet asking players to file support tickets if the problem continues occurring. This error is seemingly adjacent to another issue that was entirely preventing players from downloading the Halo Infinite Beta to begin with.

The Halo Infinite Multiplayer Beta has a unique position right now in the run up to Halo Infinite‘s full launch in December. For all intents and purposes, Halo Infinite Multiplayer begins today, as player progression in the Heroes of Reach Battle Pass, including all unlocked cosmetics and items, will carry over into the full release of the game. That said, 343 Industries and Xbox are still labeling this surprise launch of the game as the Multiplayer Beta, so it is still not the final form of the game. These experiences will likely provide the final tweaks and modifications that will go live with Halo Infinite‘s actual release.

Just last week, 343 Industries published its Outcomes Report for Halo Infinite‘s second test flight. In the extensive document, 343 Industries summarizes its personal observations and fan feedback during the second test flight, spending time with each of the Multiplayer mode’s major aspects. While there are instances where the community won out, like the return of Halo‘s longtime announce, Jeff Steitzer, other areas 343 Industries did not back down from, like the balancing of various weapons, and certain sandbox elements like the lack of player collision. It will be interesting to see how much of what 343 Industries detailed there is reflected in the Beta.

Halo Infinite‘s Multiplayer Beta is available now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, with the full game launching on December 8.
